Problem

What was the pavilion like before, and what couldn’t happen there because of it? Two or three sentences. Useful to pin down:

  • Who uses the pavilion, and for what.
  • What the electrical situation was when you started.
  • How the project came to you — who asked, or what you noticed.

Requirements & constraints

What the finished system had to do, and what limited how you could get there.

  • What the church asked for — light levels, where outlets needed to be, what equipment had to run there.
  • Budget, and where materials came from.
  • What the existing service could supply, and how that shaped the design.
  • Schedule, weather, or access constraints.
  • Requirements that came from the Eagle project process itself.
  • Codes, permitting, or approvals that applied.

Design

The decisions you made before anyone picked up a tool, and the reasoning behind them.

Your resume says you created diagrams for this — those are the single most valuable thing you can add to this page. A photo of a hand-drawn plan is fine; it does not need to be CAD.

  • How you laid out the circuits, and what determined the split.
  • What set the conductor sizing and the breaker ratings.
  • How you chose fixtures and their placement.
  • Any calculation you ran — load, voltage drop, fixture count — and the numbers it produced.
  • An option you considered and rejected, and why.

Build

Running the work, and running the crew.

  • How you sequenced the work across the days you had.
  • The safety briefing — what you covered, and how you decided what to cover. Your resume notes you trained six scouts before anyone touched wiring; say what that training consisted of.
  • How you assigned tasks given the range of experience on the crew.
  • What went differently than planned, and what you did about it.

Verification

How you knew it was right before you handed it over.

  • What you checked, with what instrument, and what you were looking for.
  • Whether it was inspected, by whom, and the result.
  • Anything that failed a check the first time, and what you changed.
  • How the pavilion is being used now, four years on.

What I’d do differently

This section does more work than any other on the page. An engineer who can name a specific decision they’d revisit — and say what they know now that they didn’t then — reads very differently from one who presents a project as flawless. Be concrete and technical rather than general.

Two or three items. For each: the decision, what you’d change, and what changed your mind — a course, the internship, something that showed up later in service.
